Last week, Cherry Creek’s Lighthouse Team had the opportunity to attend a Leadership Conference at BYU, where they met with other Student Councils from the area. Way to live Habit#7: Sharpen the Saw. The things they learned at the conference will help them now and in their future endeavors.

Wednesday’s theme for Red Ribbon Week was Community Connection. Students wore hats or outfits that represented a community hero or a job that they wanted to do when they are grown. At lunch, officers from Springville PD came to interact with students. One officer even brought his K-9 companion. Students played basketball, football and had running races with the officers. Did you know that Officer Monney was once a Cherry Creek Croc? Students presented thank you notes to the Officers. Thanks to the Officers for living Habit #4: Think Win-Win and Habit 8: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs

On Friday, we had our Victory Assembly for October. The Top Crocs and Leaders of the Month were honored, progress on our two WIGS were announced and some students participated in a Corny game. Keep reading nightly and living the 7 Habits at school, so we can reach our WIGS-Wildly Important Goals. And striving to be a Top Croc and a Leader helps everyone to have a good experience at Cherry Creek.

Ms. Christensen’s 2nd Grade Class has been learning about Ancient Greece. She borrowed some Grecian artifacts from the BYU Museum of Peoples and Cultures, like marbles, patterned tiles and ceramic vases. Her students scratched their names in Greek and designed their own ceramic vases with unique designs and styles.
